Even though, it is a little bit forgotten by the government, there are other sides as Tourism which are worried about it. For all Dominicans, it is a place for spending a great time with their family or friends, for tourists it is a cultural side where they expand their knowledge about Dominican culture and more. Furthermore, We as English professionals, it helps us to practicing our English and meet foreign people specially from USA.
